How can you define an Artist ?
Nowadays, every creator seems to be a self-proclaimed artist, or is otherwise referred to as such by others. Well, appearances to the contrary, not everyone is an artist. Some are. Many aren’t. Moreover, a sizable portion of us doesn’t even seem to have an accurate conception of what artistry entails.
Artists are seeking to capture a vision; to express something that demands expression; to translate feelings or ideas in a way that is inherently self-satisfying.
THE TRUE MEANING OF CRAFTSMANSHIP ? IGNORED ?
Using the word “crafted” to imply craftsmanship, as many companies now do, is something of a sham.
in an era of on demand conveniences and mass produced everything, it may be unpopular to point that out that faster isn’t always better.
Craftsmanship is involving all you senses. You have to create it with your own hands, to touch it, to see it, to smell it, to listen to what it has to tell you and to even taste it. These are the real ingredients to produce a timeless jewelry piece or any piece of art with your soul in it.

Crafting in jewelry should go hand in hand with sculpting, it’s about visualizing the piece- born in your imagination then sculpting the wax or directly the gold in order to create a 3D, real like, jewelry Art piece, it’s the work of carvers, of artisans, of artists….who vibrate soulfully with the jewels…. Craftsmanship is that cherry on the cake, that differentiates an ordinary jewelry piece from an exceptional one of a kind piece of Art.
Craftsmanship is luxury, luxury meaning exclusiveness.
Do you know how do we recognize craftsmanship in jewelry ?
Here’s a video that shows brief examples of what encompases a well crafted piece.
Craftsmanship in the fullest sense of the word is a way of life.
We are seeing a lot of jewelers who are incorporating the word “craftsmanship” in their campaigns but the truth is that most of them don’t reflect the craftsmanship in their jewelry pieces….
